Papers: Mudryk preferred Arsenal before Chelsea move

Shakhtar Donetsk sporting director Darijo Srna revealed that Mykhailo Mudryk initially favored a switch to Arsenal rather than his eventual £88m transfer to Chelsea. Meanwhile, Thomas Tuchel's choice to exclude Nottingham Forest skipper Morgan Gibbs-White from the national team drew criticism from the midfielder's partner, who pointed out that he stands alone in setting up over five scoring chances during a Premier League contest this term.

Elsewhere in the top flight, Everton want £79.8m for defender Jarrad Branthwaite as Real Madrid and domestic competitors circle, former Manchester United full-back Tyrell Malacia signed with FC Cincinnati on a one-year deal featuring an extra option year, and Clearlake Capital expanded their control of Chelsea by purchasing the equity held by Todd Boehly and Mark Walter at a minor gain.

In continental developments, AC Milan continue to back manager Ruben Amorim but demand a swift rebound against Lecce after a Europa League loss to Benfica. Kylian Mbappe parted ways with Nike following two decades to secure an equity stake with Swiss gear manufacturer On, while Julian Alvarez initiated discussions with an agency directed by Javier Pastore.

North of the border, Dumbarton shot-stopper Harry Broun retired from the sport merely a fortnight after re-signing, prompting the arrival of Rangers prospect Mason Munn on a temporary switch.
