Green Bay Packers defensive standout Micah Parsons downplayed the idea of seeking revenge against the Dallas Cowboys during their upcoming Week 6 matchup at Lambeau Field, despite his contentious departure from the franchise. Parsons, recovering from a torn ACL suffered in Week 15 of last season, emphasized his focus on regaining full health rather than personal narratives.
'It’s just another Sunday Night Football game against two good teams,' he said on his podcast, *The Edge with Micah Parsons*, adding that his priority is returning to the field without rushing his recovery. The Cowboys traded Parsons to Green Bay in a blockbuster deal just two weeks into the 2025 season, sending defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round picks in exchange for the All-Pro edge rusher, who then signed a four-year, $186 million extension with the Packers.
Parsons’ impact on both teams is undeniable. In his first 14 games with Green Bay before the injury, he recorded 12.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and 41 combined tackles, earning his third All-Pro selection and fifth Pro Bowl nod.
With the Cowboys, he left as their 13th all-time sack leader (52.5) and tied for 14th in forced fumbles (nine), while also making four Pro Bowls and two All-Pro teams. The Packers’ defense has struggled without him, ranking fifth in opponent passing yards (181.0 per game) and eighth in total yards (308.6 per game), though they remain tied for 14th in points allowed (22.4 per game).
Meanwhile, the Cowboys (2-3) face the Packers (3-2), who defeated the Chicago Bears 31-7 in their last outing, while Dallas lost 24-16 at home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels.
