Packers keep adding veteran offensive linemen by signing Mekhi Becton

The Green Bay front office continues working to repair its blocking unit by bringing in experienced blocker Mekhi Becton following a successful workout. Becton joins the franchise after spending the previous year with the Los Angeles Chargers, which followed a championship campaign protecting the backfield for the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2024 season.

He entered the league as an early selection out of the University of Louisville by the New York Jets, where he previously shared a locker room with fellow recent acquisition Laken Tomlinson.

This transaction follows an acquisition of Tomlinson from the Dallas Cowboys practice squad earlier in the weekend. To clear space for these additions on the active 53-man roster, the franchise is shifting Zach Bako-Bewele and Jayden Reed to the injured reserve list.

Becton brings extensive starting experience from multiple franchises and could immediately challenge for snaps at the guard position.
