Our 2026 MLB awards: The best, worst and weirdest from a wild season

The 2026 baseball campaign delivered massive surprises, highlighted by Ryan O'Hearn driving in 10 runs and hitting three homers during the initial six frames to power Pittsburgh past Atlanta. Meanwhile, Kansas City committed a comical three errors on a single play against the Mets, allowing Carson Benge to trot home for an inside-the-park home run.

Memorable quotes also marked the year, with Boston's Payton Tolle offering a colorful description of his spring training roster battle, while Toronto's Vladimir Guerrero Jr. defended his massive contract by stating his mega-deal rewarded past accomplishments rather than future home run totals.
