Following the No. 20 Oregon Ducks' 41-27 road victory over the No.
12 USC Trojans on Saturday night, head coach Dan Lanning addressed the severe second-quarter injury suffered by Dante Moore. Moore was sliding after a scramble when USC linebacker Desman Stephens II delivered a hard hit that forced Moore's head into the turf, triggering a midfield skirmish and an eventual targeting ejection for Stephens.
Medical personnel spent an extended period evaluating Moore on the field before removing him via stretcher, cart, and ultimately an ambulance near the stadium tunnel. Lanning later voiced strong support for the targeting rules, noting the dangerous collision could easily have been avoided.
Following the incident, Dylan Raiola stepped in at quarterback to lead the Ducks to the win by completing 19 of 25 passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns, while the rushing attack was fueled by Jordon Davison and Dierre Hill Jr. combining for 31 carries, 129 yards, and three scores.
