Amid a stretch of unpredictability for England where certain cricketers have surged while others have fallen into a slump, Ollie Robinson made an emphatic statement with the ball. The seamer opened the initial Test with a devastating three-wicket over, later bookended his last bowling stint with a double strike in a single over, and maintained exceptional precision throughout the match.

While Robinson's technical talent had rarely faced scrutiny, serious concerns surrounding his conditioning and application had limited him to just a lone outing over a span of almost three years. His performances across the recent summer contest, however, marked a triumphant return to form.
