New Zealand cricketer Finn Allen is set to experiment by dropping into the middle-order during the upcoming ODI series against India, shifting from his familiar opening role as part of preparations for the 2027 World Cup. Having previously batted as an opener in all 21 of his international one-day innings, Allen will test his capabilities against spin and in the latter stages of the innings across the fourth and fifth matches, marking his return to the format for his national side since 2023.
Ahead of the fixtures, he expressed admiration for the formidable Indian top-order trio of Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli. Fans can catch the opening match live on Sony Sports Network and Sony LIV on Wednesday morning.
