NY Giants news: Malik Nabers, J.J. McCarthy, more

New York faces a tough matchup this Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, whose offensive scheme shares heavy similarities with the Rams unit that previously defeated the Giants. Defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson highlighted Arizona coach Mike LaFleur's ties to Sean McVay, while preparing to contain rookie running back Jeremiyah Love.

Meanwhile, quarterback Jameis Winston looks to find his footing against a vulnerable pass defense, knowing his job security could be tested if struggles continue and rookie J.J. McCarthy waits in the wings.

McCarthy is approaching his development day by day and focusing on the current playbook rather than past struggles in Minnesota. Elsewhere on the roster, rookie defensive back Colton Hood has endured a difficult baptism by fire after facing premier competition in his opening starts.

Hood has yielded notable catches and scores across his first three appearances, prompting close evaluation from coaching staff as the team looks to string together vital victories before the bye week.
