Notre Dame’s defense enters Saturday’s high-stakes road game against BYU with key question marks, as star cornerback Leonard Moore returns from a concussion suffered in the team’s recent win over Stanford. Moore, one of the Fighting Irish’s most impactful players, participated in practices this week but remains listed as questionable for the matchup.
Head coach Marcus Freeman confirmed Moore and defensive tackle Jason Onye both practiced, though Freeman emphasized the team is preparing with the assumption Moore will contribute—though the extent of his involvement remains uncertain. The BYU Cougars, known for their explosive offense this season, pose a significant challenge, and Notre Dame’s defensive depth will be tested without Moore’s full availability.
The game, set for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff on ABC, will also feature the College Gameday crew in attendance, underscoring its importance in the college football landscape.
