Northwestern routs Penn State in first game at Wildcats’ new stadium

Northwestern opened its newly built facility in grand fashion, overwhelming Penn State by a 34-13 margin on Friday evening. Ground game dominance fueled the victory, as Caleb Komolafe racked up 188 rushing yards alongside a score, while teammate Joseph Himon II contributed 162 yards on the ground and crossed the goal line twice.

The triumphant effort elevated the hosts to three wins against one defeat overall and a 1-1 conference mark.

On the opposing sideline, the visitors slipped to a third loss in five outings during their initial campaign under the direction of Matt Campbell. Quarterback Rocco Becht managed 243 passing yards and one touchdown toss, though he also surrendered a pair of interceptions.

Penn State struggled to recover after falling behind early and now prepares to face USC next.
