Martin Necas and Nicolas Roy tallied within a span of 23 seconds during a four-goal second period to propel the Colorado Avalanche past the St. Louis Blues 6-1 on Saturday night in Denver.
Necas led the charge with a pair of goals and one assist, building on his stellar opening stretch after a 100-point campaign in 2025-26, while Nathan MacKinnon chipped in three assists to maintain his own prolific start to the season.
Cale Makar and Necas opened the scoring in the first frame before Josh Manson and Artturi Lehkonen added tallies, the latter capitalizing on a misplay by St. Louis netminder Jordan Binnington.
Mackenzie Blackwood turned away 25 shots for Colorado, losing his shutout bid only when Dalibor Dvorsky found the net for the Blues in the third period.
