NBA team fires broadcaster hours after hiring him over racist social posts

The Portland Trail Blazers quickly reversed course by dismissing recently hired play-by-play announcer Braiden Bell on the same day his appointment was announced. Team leadership discovered historical social media activity from Bell's teenage years containing offensive statements.

The organization stated that such remarks violate internal policies and shared values, leading them to cancel the agreement before he began his duties. Bell, who previously worked for the Phoenix Mercury, was intended to succeed Kevin Calabro in the broadcasting position.
