NBA Media Day 2026 news and notes: Nikola Jokic says 'I'm gonna sign next year'

NBA media day brought clarity for some players and fresh drama for others across the league. Nikola Jokic addressed rumors about his contract situation in Denver by confirming his plan to put pen to paper next summer on a massive extension that includes a no-trade clause.

Meanwhile, Ben Simmons turned heads in Sacramento by defending his competitive drive while competing for a non-guaranteed roster spot, and San Antonio's Dylan Harper sharply dismissed the notion of accepting a bench role despite generating early buzz for the Sixth Man of the Year award.
