Murakami homers twice as White Sox stay laser-focused on AL Central race

Munetaka Murakami launched two long balls during the opening and seventh frames to reach thirty-five homers on the year, pacing a six-to-one triumph over the Rockies in front of a capacity crowd at Rate Field. The victory keeps Chicago within striking distance of Cleveland for the division crown as the regular season reaches its final weekend.

Pitcher Sean Burke locked down a strong outing by surrendering only a single run across five and one-third frames while fanning seven batters to finish his campaign with a three-point-thirty-four earned run average and one hundred eighty-five strikeouts. Meanwhile, teammate Colson Montgomery established a new single-season major league standard by collecting his two hundred twenty-fourth strikeout.
