India secured a record-extending eighth Women's Asia Cup championship in Dubai with a comprehensive 72-run win over Sri Lanka, but the post-match festivities ground to a halt amid an official stand-off. After Shafali Verma's 68 and Smriti Mandhana's 59 combined for a 129-run opening partnership to push India to 183 for five, Sree Charani claimed four wickets alongside Deepti Sharma's three to fold the defending champions for 111 by 11:25 PM IST.
