Mohammad Kaif recalls Virat Kohli’s ODI retirement talks after 55th ton

Mohammad Kaif has praised Virat Kohli following his match-winning innings against the West Indies, highlighting how the star batter silenced past retirement murmurs. During an Australia tour featuring consecutive ducks, critics questioned Kohli's future in international cricket, but he responded by amassing over 900 runs and four centuries across his next 11 ODI innings.

In the recent contest, Kohli anchored a successful pursuit of 296 by hammering an unbeaten 139 from only 88 deliveries, featuring ten boundaries and nine towering sixes. Kaif noted that this exceptional knock carried extra significance given that Kohli plays roughly one match each month after stepping away from Test and T20I cricket.

The former batter added that Kohli's current form, rigorous work ethic, and dedication serve as an ideal blueprint for emerging talents.
