Mohammad Abbas delivered a spectacular all-round display to lead Pakistan's stubborn resistance during the third Test against England at Edgbaston, even as the hosts pursue a 3-0 series sweep. Walking in with his side in trouble at 318 for 8, Abbas compiled a career-best 42 from 67 deliveries, featuring five boundaries and two maximums.

Alongside Razaullah, who blasted 81 runs from 63 balls with nine sixes, the pair forged a historic 121-run stand for the ninth wicket—only the second century partnership for that wicket in Pakistan's Test history—propelling the final total to 449. Tasked with defending a target of 130 in the fourth innings, Abbas immediately rocked England's pursuit by removing Ben Duckett on the opening delivery and dismissing Emilio Gay with the final ball of the very first over.
