MLB Wild Card Series Game 2 preview: Chicago Cubs vs. San Diego Padres, Wednesday 9/30, 9 p.m. CT

Kevin Gausman takes the mound for the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday in the second contest of their Wild Card Series against the San Diego Padres. Gausman aims to build on his strong postseason history and a prior July outing at Petco Park, though he recently managed a minor shoulder issue.

Opposing him for the Padres is Nick Pivetta, who returned in September from a prolonged absence due to a right flexor strain and boasts a low ERA across four late-season starts.
