The University of Missouri women’s golf team secured second place at the OU Intercollegiate, finishing just two strokes behind host Oklahoma. The Tigers posted their lowest team score of the tournament—a 9-under-par total—during the third round at Wichita Country Club, building on a 1-over first round and a 3-under second round.
Senior Addie Dobson led the charge with a career-low 66 in the final round, matching her best 18-hole score while going even or under par on every hole. She finished the tournament tied for second place overall with a 6-under total, just one stroke behind Oklahoma’s winner, after starting strong with three consecutive birdies in the first round.
Melanie Walker, another senior, placed fifth with a 4-under total, including the team’s only eagle on hole 4 of the first round, while Fleur van Beek and Alexandra Berglund rounded out the top four Tiger performances with solid rounds of their own. The team’s success came amid ongoing eligibility uncertainty for Dobson and Walker, whose temporary NCAA eligibility was extended after a court-ordered restraining order pushed back their hearing to October 8.
Meanwhile, Oklahoma’s victory marked its third win in the last four tournaments, setting the tone for a strong SEC season ahead of the conference championship in April.
