Middlesex beat Leicestershire to win One-Day Cup

Middlesex secured their first piece of silverware in ten years by defeating Leicestershire in the One-Day Cup final at Trent Bridge. Despite an early top-order collapse that saw five wickets fall cheaply, a brilliant century from Ryan Higgins combined with fifty support from Harry Duke carried the victors to a total of 231 before they were eventually dismissed in the final over of their innings.

Ian Holland claimed five wickets for the opposition in the strong bowling display. In reply, Leicestershire mounted a serious challenge spearheaded by a century from Nick Kelly, yet a disciplined bowling effort led by Toby Roland-Jones and Tom Helm ultimately restricted the chase and sealed a 31-run victory for Middlesex.
