Despite a challenging season on the field, the Michigan Wolverines continue to dominate college football television ratings in 2026. According to Nielsen’s latest data, Michigan has amassed over 5.2 million viewers across its games so far this year, placing them sixth nationally among all programs.
While the Wolverines trail Ohio State (6.7 million viewers) and Wisconsin (7.4 million viewers) within the Big Ten, their viewership remains a standout achievement, particularly given their recent struggles. Wisconsin’s surge in ratings is partly attributed to their high-profile Week 1 clash with Notre Dame at Lambeau Field, which drew massive attention across linear and streaming platforms, including nearly 700,000 viewers on Peacock alone.
Ohio State’s strong start, highlighted by a prime-time showdown against Texas, has also contributed to its lead in the conference. With upcoming matchups against Michigan State and other marquee opponents, the Wolverines still have opportunities to further boost their television numbers before the season concludes.
