Mickey Gall, a veteran welterweight fighter with a storied UFC career, will finally return to the octagon after a medical setback. The American, who last competed in May 2024, was pulled from his scheduled bout against Sedriques Dumas due to health concerns but has since been cleared to face Zach Reese at UFC Vegas 123 on October 31.
This marks Gall’s first fight in the middleweight division, a weight class he has never competed in before, despite a professional career primarily at welterweight. His last victory came in 2021, and he has since lost four consecutive fights, including a first-round knockout loss to Ramiz Brahimaj earlier this year.
Gall’s opponent, Reese, a 32-year-old from Houston, is also seeking his first UFC win after a recent loss to promotional newcomer. Reese, who won his UFC contract by finishing Eli Aronov in the first round on the Contender Series, has bounced back from a first-round knockout loss to Cody Brundage with two straight wins in 2024.
Both fighters are in desperate need of momentum heading into their highly anticipated clash in Las Vegas.
