Michigan State loses star running back for rest of season

Michigan State has encountered consecutive defeats during Pat Fitzgerald's initial campaign, and the situation worsened following confirmation that leading rusher Cam Edwards will miss the remaining schedule due to an injury. Edwards departed the recent 31-13 setback against Nebraska during the opening period after sustaining a knee problem, later requiring a cart and crutches on the sideline.

This absence delivers a significant blow to the Spartans attack, as the UConn transfer previously accumulated 304 yards and three scores on the ground while averaging 4.8 yards per carry this year. The 2-2 program now prepares for an upcoming away contest against Wisconsin without one of their primary offensive contributors.
