Chennai Super Kings are overhauling their coaching staff ahead of the IPL 2027 season, with former Australian batsman Michael Hussey set to depart the franchise after eight years. Hussey, who joined CSK as a player in 2008 and later served as batting coach from 2018, is expected to leave following the team’s decision to restructure its leadership, including the recent removal of head coach Stephen Fleming.
The franchise has already appointed former India fast bowlers Zaheer Khan as head coach and Mohit Sharma as bowling coach, both moves reportedly influenced by MS Dhoni. With Hussey’s exit confirmed, speculation has grown about his potential move to another IPL team, as multiple franchises are reportedly interested in securing his services as a batting coach for the upcoming season.
