Meet the Scottish teenagers poised to represent Uganda

Partick Thistle siblings Olly and Seb Fisher are on the brink of making international football history by turning out for Uganda. The teenage brothers qualify through their mother Kate, whose parents previously lived in the country for around four or five years while her father worked as a schoolteacher.

Eighteen-year-old goalkeeper Olly and sixteen-year-old forward Seb first learned of Uganda's interest six months ago following a discussion between their father and a consultant in Nigeria. According to Uganda under-20 coach Laryea Kingston, the former Hearts and Ghana player, the Scottish-born pair would be the very first white footballers to represent the nation.

In early August, both players traveled to Jinja in eastern Uganda for a two-week stretch of under-20 and under-17 preparation camps. Once their camp concludes, the duo will head back to Scotland to balance their club commitments with university and school studies.

Looking ahead, Olly aims to participate in early next year's Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations if his side advances, while Seb has his sights set on joining the under-17 roster for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar this November.
