Meet the only Scot managing a national team in world football

Thirty-four-year-old Kurt Herd is currently leading the national men's side of Dominica, making him the only Scottish manager in charge of any international football team globally. Appointed permanently after a brief interim period, Herd shoulders nearly every operational responsibility for the squad by acting as the primary analyst, scout, nutritionist, and yoga instructor alongside his managerial duties.

Operating thousands of miles away from his native Dundee, Herd oversees the 182nd-ranked side composed mostly of local amateurs while actively searching social media platforms to recruit eligible talent with familial ties to the island. To elevate athletic standards during their Concacaf Nations League campaign, he has introduced mindfulness practices and dietary guidance while personally maintaining strict professional habits within the community.
