UFC Edmonton video: Joaquin Buckley snubs Dana White, Mike Malott during faceoffs

The UFC’s return to Edmonton for *UFC Fight Night 291* this weekend kicked off with a tense pre-fight moment as welterweight contenders **Joaquin Buckley** and **Mike Malott** faced off outside Rogers Place. Footage captured Buckley pointedly avoiding handshakes with UFC president Dana White and Malott during their ceremonial weigh-ins Friday, setting an early tone ahead of their main-event clash.

Both fighters made weight without issue, ensuring their scheduled bout remains on track for Saturday night’s card. The event, headlined by Buckley and Malott, marks the UFC’s first Fight Night in Canada since 2023, with the welterweight showdown drawing particular attention as two knockout specialists square off for a potential title shot opportunity.

Weigh-ins wrapped up Friday, with all fighters meeting the required limits for the Saturday action at Rogers Place.
