Max Verstappen expressed frustration over the time spent during a rain-delayed qualifying session at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, noting he lost half a day due to a grid penalty. The Red Bull driver, who will start 21st after an engine change, spent the weather-induced break watching Premier League football.
He opted to withdraw from the session early to preserve tires, acknowledging that overtaking will be difficult during Sunday's race due to technical limitations on the straights. Lando Norris secured pole position for the event, with Andrea Kimi Antonelli joining him on the front row.
