Mattingly not ready to talk managing in '27, but Phillies' core backs skipper

Don Mattingly is declining to discuss his status regarding the 2027 season following a campaign where he steered the team to a postseason berth as interim skipper after replacing Rob Thomson. Dave Dombrowski previously approached Alex Cora about the managerial vacancy earlier in the spring, leaving questions about the long-term leadership.

Meanwhile, key players like Aaron Nola, Kyle Schwarber, J.T. Realmuto, and Bryce Harper have expressed strong appreciation for Mattingly's steady guidance through a challenging year.
