Matthew Breetzke's 112 powers South Africa past Australia after tourists collapse spectacularly in Durban

Matthew Breetzke anchored South Africa with a brilliant century, scoring 112 runs to help his team defeat Australia by 67 runs in their opening one-day international fixture. Supported strongly by Marco Jansen, who contributed 75 runs, the hosts managed to establish a total of 297 runs for the loss of eight wickets across their fifty overs.

Despite a rapid opening partnership from Mitch Marsh and Travis Head during the run chase, Australia suffered a dramatic batting collapse as they lost their final nine wickets for just 101 runs. Keshav Maharaj claimed four wickets while conceding only 20 runs, helping dismiss the visiting side for 230 all out and sealing the victory for South Africa.
