During the opening game of the American League Division Series, Cleveland left fielder Angel Martínez stunned the crowd by leaping against the wall to snare a deep drive from Chicago designated hitter Tommy Pham. After securing the high-velocity fly ball, Martínez quickly whipped the ball toward Travis Bazzana, successfully doubling off Miguel Vargas at first base to halt a potential scoring threat in the sixth inning.
Later in the contest, Martínez nearly nailed another runner at the plate, though catcher Austin Hedges could not secure the throw.
