Mariners News: Patrick Bailey, Shohei Ohtani, and Bryan Baker

The Seattle Mariners are navigating a critical offseason as they evaluate their financial strategy and free-agent plans, with reports suggesting multiple Arizona Fall League coaches are under consideration to replace outgoing manager Dan Wilson. Meanwhile, the team’s bullpen dynamics have shifted significantly following the 2025 trade that brought closer Bryan Baker from the Baltimore Orioles, where he was later named an All-Star in his new role with the Tampa Bay Rays.

Injury concerns continue to cloud the outlook for Los Angeles Dodgers two-way star Shohei Ohtani, who may be benched for Game 3 of the NLCS as he recovers from ongoing physical setbacks. The Mariners’ managerial search remains active, with scouts closely examining Fall League candidates, while the broader league sees prospects like Chicago Cubs phenom Kade Snell drawing attention in the developmental pipeline.
