The Toronto Maple Leafs made two roster adjustments ahead of their Monday night matchup against the San Jose Sharks, recalling both forward Vinni Lettieri and goaltender Artur Akhtyamov. Lettieri, who has not played in the NHL since April 2025, is coming off a strong start to the AHL season with three goals and nine points in five games for the Toronto Marlies.
Meanwhile, Akhtyamov’s call-up follows his dominant Calder Cup-winning performance last season, where he posted a .923 save percentage and a 2.22 goals-against average in 22 playoff games. The moves come as the Maple Leafs look to stabilize after a three-game losing streak, including a 4-1 defeat to the New York Islanders on Saturday.
Both players will now compete for playing time, with Lettieri potentially making his NHL debut and Akhtyamov aiming to build on his breakout AHL campaign.
