Musician Macklemore announced on social media on Monday, Sept. 14, that New England Patriots team owner Robert Kraft pressured Ed Sheeran to dismiss him from a concert lineup.
Sheeran's "Loop Tour 2026" includes back-to-back dates on Sept. 25 and 26 at Gillette Stadium, the Foxborough venue operated by the Kraft Group.
According to the hip-hop artist, the friction stems from his vocal support for a "Free Palestine" message during a performance earlier in September at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Macklemore indicated that Kraft, who is Jewish, reached out directly to Sheeran with an ultimatum that the rapper could not take the stage at Gillette Stadium. In addition to threatening to shut down the Massachusetts dates if Macklemore remained on the bill, Kraft reportedly cautioned that other host venues would pull out of the tour.
Macklemore confirmed he has since been dropped from the upcoming tour appearances.
