LSU Baseball fall scrimmage notes: Thursday, October 15th

During the second week of fall baseball scrimmages on Thursday evening, freshman pitcher Cooper Sides put together a strong three-inning outing for the Purple squad, allowing just one hit and four strikeouts while showcasing a fastball reaching 96 mph. On the opposing side, William Schmidt earned a stellar two-inning appearance for the Gold team, striking out the side looking in the opening frame with a fastball hitting 97 mph and an 89-90 mph cutter or slider.

Offensively, Lucas Nawrocki highlighted the night by launching a nearly 400-foot home run off Sides into the right-field Diamond Deck.
