Chelsea captain James out for around three months

Chelsea leader Reece James faces a three-month recovery period following successful knee surgery. The defender picked up the problem during a training session last week ahead of his club's five-goal victory over Bournemouth and is now sidelined well into the new year.

Manager Xabi Alonso is scheduled to address the physical setback during his media briefing ahead of the upcoming weekend fixture against Everton. The latest medical issue means the fullback will miss upcoming matches against Tottenham, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Manchester City.
