New York Mets star Francisco Lindor ended his 13-game homerless drought on Sunday during the final game of the regular season. Playing through a weather delay at Nationals Park, the shortstop connected for his 300th career home run off opposing pitcher DJ Herz during the second inning.
This 409-foot blast made him just the second switch-hitter in baseball history to reach both 300 home runs and 200 stolen bases, placing him alongside Carlos Beltrán. Furthermore, the Elias Sports Bureau notes he is only the fifth player with at least half his games at shortstop to achieve the 300-homer milestone.
Ronny Mauricio followed immediately with another home run, marking consecutive long balls for the visiting lineup.
