Lidl-Trek launch women's development team with rising talents from USA and Great Britain among 10-rider roster

October 28, 2026

Lidl-Trek has announced the creation of a women's development squad set to begin racing in 2027. The newly formed Continental-level program will feature ten riders hailing from eight different countries, including American athletes Katherine Sarkisov and Ella Sabo, British rider Kate Richardson, and Austrian cyclist Tabea Huys.

Team management noted that the roster is designed to cultivate upcoming talent by offering structured support and a clear path toward the WorldTour without immediate result pressures. The selection process prioritized potential and willingness to learn over raw race outcomes, mirroring similar feeder setups across cycling.

The project joins a select group of women's squads operating a secondary development arm, operating alongside comparable programs from organizations like Canyon-SRAM and Fenix-Premier Tech. Fränk Schleck, overseeing the women's division, emphasized that the initiative aims to ready athletes for the full scope of professional demands both on and off the bicycle.

Additional members of the ten-rider lineup include Chantal Pegolo and Matilde Rossignoli from Italy, Luxembourg's Liv Wenzel, Spanish rider Ane Zubeldia, Danish cyclist Olympia Norrid-Mortensen, and German talent Messane Bräutigam.
