Liberty take first step vs. Lynx toward proving their struggles forged a contender

The eighth-seeded New York Liberty began their postseason journey by defeating the top-ranked Minnesota Lynx 91-75 in Game 1 under head coach Chris DeMarco. Breanna Stewart led the charge with an impressive performance of 34 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists as the team looks to overcome regular-season injuries and make WNBA history.

Sabrina Ionescu previously noted that the squad aims to prove their earlier struggles were necessary to forge a true contender. The Liberty now return home to Brooklyn with a chance to close out the series on Tuesday.
