Liberty news: Chris DeMarco touts overcoming 'tough year' to boot out Lynx

New York pulled off a historic playoff upset by defeating Minnesota 87-71 in the second game of their opening series. Led by strong performances from Breanna Stewart, Jonquel Jones, and Sabrina Ionescu, the eighth-seeded squad made postseason history by eliminating the top-seeded opponent.

Head coach Chris DeMarco praised his team for pushing past a difficult campaign filled with roster health issues and early struggles. Stewart and Jones each contributed 21 points, while Ionescu added 18 points and seven assists to secure the series victory.

DeMarco noted that the group hit their stride heading into the autumn months after weathering those early challenges.
