LeBron James, Jaylen Brown set to make home debuts as Sixers host Cleveland Cavaliers

The Philadelphia 76ers opened their season with a 106-100 victory over the defending champion New York Knicks, highlighting a stout defensive effort and crisp rotations, especially from center Joel Embiid, who noted his aim to make an All‑Defensive team. Offensively the Sixers mixed high screen‑and‑rolls featuring Tyrese Maxey and Embiid, creating open looks for teammates such as Jaylen Brown and LeBron James, who are set to make their home debuts when the team hosts the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Cleveland returns with a core of James Harden, Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen, supplemented by new additions Peyton Watson, Mario Hezonja and rookie Meleek Thomas. Coach Nick Nurse, who used only 7.5 players in the Sixers’ opener, will need to expand the rotation beyond the limited minutes of Dean Wade and Dominick Barlow, potentially giving more time to LaBaron Philon Jr.

or Jabari Walker as the season progresses.
