Teenage archer Kumkum Mohod made history at the Asian Games by securing the individual recurve gold medal. After tying her final match against Oh Yejin at five points each, she clinched victory in a shoot-out by landing a ten.
Earlier in the tournament, she also captured a team gold alongside Ankita Bhakat and Kirti Sharma, as well as a mixed pair silver with Dhiraj Bommadevara. Her semifinal win over Jingyi Zhu guaranteed her a spot in the upcoming Los Angeles Olympics, making her the first Indian woman to medal in this specific event.
