Kirk Cousins is delivering one of his most impressive debut stretches in the NFL, this time with the Las Vegas Raiders. After four games, he’s already tied for the league lead in touchdown passes with 11, matching Brock Purdy’s total.
If he adds three more in Sunday’s matchup against the New England Patriots, he’ll join an elite group: only Patrick Mahomes and Kurt Warner have thrown at least 14 touchdowns in their first five games with a new team, and both went on to win MVP honors that season. At 38, Cousins could be on track to follow in their footsteps, especially after a 37-year-old Matthew Stafford won the award last year.
The Raiders, who suffered their first loss of the season last week, will need a strong performance in New England to keep Cousins’ momentum—and MVP hopes—alive.
