Kirby Smart has been dominant at Georgia. Against Alabama, it's been a different story

Kirby Smart has built a powerhouse since taking charge of the Georgia football program following the 2015 season, compiling a massive overall record and capturing multiple Southeastern Conference titles alongside a pair of national championships. However, his performance against his former boss Nick Saban and his successor Kalen DeBoer at Alabama has proven to be a glaring exception, resulting in only two victories against seven defeats across his tenure.

This weekend, the head coach aims to improve that mark as the second-ranked Bulldogs travel to face the seventh-ranked Crimson Tide.

The upcoming Week 6 showdown arrives with both programs holding national title ambitions following a history of closely contested battles. Five of the seven losses under Smart against Alabama have been decided by a single score, though he did secure a convincing 28-7 victory in the conference championship game last season.

With kickoff scheduled at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the visiting squad looks to overcome recent struggles against their long-standing rival.
