Steve Smith surpasses Steve Waugh in all-time Test run-scorers' list

Steve Smith has climbed to third place on the list of all-time leading Test run-scorers for Australia, moving past Steve Waugh. Smith reached this milestone during a match against South Africa in Durban, where the team faced early pressure after losing Nic Maddinson and Travis Head.

Smith now trails only Ricky Ponting and Allan Border among his countrymen in the format. Globally, Smith has also advanced to 13th position on the all-time Test run-scoring list, which remains led by Sachin Tendulkar.
