Queens Park Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara could miss Friday’s Championship clash with West Ham United after a dispute with the Finnish Football Association over his international availability. The 30-year-old was reportedly ordered by QPR to leave Finland’s pre-match camp ahead of Tuesday’s Nations League game against Hungary, forcing him to choose between club and country.
Finnish FA head coach Jacob Friis confirmed Kamara was placed in an impossible position, while the federation’s general secretary, Marco Casagrande, accused the club of violating FIFA rules by not making him fully available for the international window. The Finnish FA has already informed FIFA of the breach, leaving Kamara’s eligibility for the West Ham game—scheduled just three days after the international window closes—hanging in the balance.
So far this season, Kamara has been a key figure for QPR, starting three of their eight Championship matches and featuring as a substitute in four others, though he has yet to cement a regular starting spot as the club sits sixth in the table.
