Justin Verlander to make final MLB start vs Pirates on Saturday

The Detroit Tigers secured an 8-7 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday evening to kick off their final series of the 2026 campaign. Jackson Jobe picked up the win after delivering five and one-third innings of two-run baseball, holding off a late surge from the visitors.

On Saturday, right-hander Justin Verlander will take the mound for the final start of his career in a matchup against righty Kirby Yates. Game time is set for 1:10 p.m. Eastern at the ballpark.
