Jets cut Lions lead to 24-16, but lose Breece Hall to injury

New York trimmed Detroit's advantage to 24-16 with just over eleven minutes remaining as Geno Smith connected with Jeremy Ruckert for a touchdown following a drive near the goal line. However, the sequence proved costly when running back Breece Hall sustained an apparent lower-body ailment on a prior rushing play and was subsequently sidelined by medical staff.

The team later confirmed he is dealing with a thigh issue and will not return to the game. An ensuing two-point conversion attempt by the visitors was unsuccessful, leaving the hosts ahead by a single possession.
