Jersey Bulls Women suffer first-ever league defeat

Jersey Bulls Women experienced their inaugural league loss, falling 3-0 against Sutton United Under-23s. The setback marked the island club's debut in the South East Counties Women's Football League's Surrey Premier Division, having earned promotion with an unblemished winning record across Surrey Division One during their debut campaign in the English pyramid.

Following an FA Cup elimination the preceding week, this reverse makes it two consecutive competitive losses for the side.

Following a scoreless opening 45 minutes, the home team seized the lead three minutes into the second half via Rachel Marlow's flicked effort from a set piece. Neriyah Anderson-Bailey quickly doubled Sutton's advantage with a strike from the perimeter of the penalty area after a corner kick, and Maya Anderson later sealed the 3-0 scoreline.

Looking to rebound, Jersey Bulls will next head on the road to face Oxted and District, who currently hold a record of one draw and one loss from their initial two fixtures.
