Jeremiah Smith and Colin Simmons have captured the Walter Camp National Players of the Week accolades following standout displays in Week 4. Smith tore through Illinois with twelve catches totaling 217 yards and four scores, bringing his 2026 season totals to 33 receptions for 617 yards and seven touchdowns as an early Heisman contender.
Simmons powered Texas past Tennessee in Knoxville by racking up nine tackles, 5.5 sacks, and a forced fumble despite picking up an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for a celebration.
Looking ahead, Smith and the Buckeyes will visit Iowa City to face Iowa in a Big Ten showdown, while Simmons and the Longhorns prepare for their October 10 matchup against Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry. ESPN's College GameDay will be on hand for the Ohio State contest following Iowa's dramatic final-play victory over Michigan.
